How is it made
PLA (polylactic acid) is typically made from the sugars in corn starch, cassava or sugarcane. It is biodegradable, carbon-neutral and edible. To transform corn into plastic, corn kernels are immersed in sulfur dioxide and hot water, where its components break down into starch, protein, and fiber.
The kernels are then ground and the corn oil is separated from the starch. The starch is comprised of long chains of carbon molecules, similar to the carbon chains in plastic from fossil fuels.
Some citric acids are mixed in to form a long-chain polymer (a large molecule consisting of repeating smaller units) that is the building block for plastic.PLA can look and behave like polyethylene (used in plastic films, packing and bottles), polystyrene (Styrofoam and plastic cutlery) or polypropylene (packaging, auto parts, textiles).
Raw materials feeding
We insist on developing and applying a serious of fully degradable and modified resins such as PLA, PBAT which is a new type of bio-based and renewable biodegradable material made from starch raw materials. It can be completely decomposed by microorganisms in nature under specific conditions, and it will generate carbon dioxide and water without polluting the environment.
We have advanced equipment that can precisely control the size, shape and density of granules to ensure product consistency and stability. We focus on quality and strictly control every aspect to ensure the highest standards of our products.
Extrusion and Printing
Plastic pellets are melted in an extruder and then extruded through a die to form a film. The film is then cooled, stretched, and treated to give it strength and flexibility. As needed, printing and coating are performed on the surface of the film. Typically, flexographic printing is used to print the desired design onto the film surface.
After the film is printed and coated, it can be cut into various shapes and sizes according to the requirements of the product. This cutting process can be performed using a variety of methods, such as slitting, rewinding, or die cutting, depending on the specific needs of the product.
